Health Advisory for Boquete
Jun 10th, 2007 by Don Ray
It was posted on several of the Panama Yahoo groups that there has been a health advisory issued and that it was published in the Panama America. While the warning was for Boquete, I would have to assume that it could be more general in nature.
Reduvid bugs are identified as the source of the problem. I remember these bugs when I was a kid living on a farm in Oklahoma.
Here is the wikipedia source related to trypanosama cruzi, which is the parasite that enters a human causing the Chagas disease.
If you are living or visiting the Boquete area, it would be wise to read the Panama America article. Don’t forget that you can use Google to translate the article if you are not proficient in Spanish.

Never a dull day in Paradise.
Of course not!
Here’s what the local vector in Chiriqui looks like.

Thanks Greg. I will put them on my “Not Wanted In My House” poster.
