Reader Update on Visa Dates and Extensions

I received the following update this morning from a Chiriqui Chatter reader from a conversation he had with the Panama City immigration office:
I went down to Immigration here in PC this morning and was told by 3 different officials that the cut off date is May 21. If you arrived as a tourist in Panama before then, you are good for 90 days (and can apply for another 90 day extension ) but that if you arrived after that, your tourist visa is good for only 30 days, although you can apply for an extension.
