Just A Short Note

I am up and running on UBUNTU 7.04. I have all updates applied, Evolution has all my contacts, and the system really looks good.
I have to say I am pretty impressed with the functionality and presentation of this system. I have a couple loose ends, but nothing major. I want to take some time and burn some DVDs so that I don’t have to worry about future data loss. I hope that the UBUNTU team gets the scanner problem fixed in another month. I can see from the forums that they are working on it.
Next week I think I can now take my XP PC in and have it checked to determine what its problem is. My bet is that it is either the hard drive controller or the mother board. But I now feel like I have a stable system and I can afford to be with out the XP PC. I want to get it diagnosed so that if I need to buy something I can do it while I am in the US.

Have you tried the Ultimate Boot CD to try to diagnose your problems? There are some good utilities on this disk. I used it to diagnose my wife’s dying hard drive a few months ago.
