Linux PC Back Up And Running
May 18th, 2007 by Don Ray
For some strange reason about a month ago my Linux box quit recognizing that it had a keyboard. I just kept not having the time to isolate the problem until today. Since I have tied my PCs to a USB KVM, I only have one USB keyboard. I needed a standard PS/2 keyboard to see if the Linux box would recognize it.
I called Alex at INFOX and asked if he could help me check my PC with a standard PS/2 keyboard. He said he could so I took my PC to INFOX. He plugged in his keyboard and hooked up the monitor and mouse and the PC booted right up.
Then Alex checked the BIOS settings and the Keyboard setting to allow it to see a USB keyboard was turned off. How the BIOS got reset, I have no idea, but the mystery of Linux not working has been solved.
Thank you Alex. Now I can start looking at getting UBUNTU current again.

I’m glad to hear the mystery has been solved.
You ought to take a good look at Ubuntu 7.04. I’m very pleased with it.
I just downloaded it and am going to give it a try.
