Hi Frank. The younger players get a good turnout also. One day when I walked over to the stadium they had several age levels working out and each were really being put through the drills. I think in Chiriqui baseball is even more popular than soccer.

It is nice to think that watching a baseball game is still a good way to spend a couple of hours. We've really gotten so hyped by the entertainment industry in the U.S. (and probably in most of the world)--including pro sports--that we forget to just sit back and watch a game for what it is: a game. I don't even know if my little city here in the states has a baseball team of some ilk or where it might play if it does exist. I know that the David team is closely watched by aficianados there, but I don't know about the "minor" leagues--like the school teams you're showing here: Do folks turn out to watch their games, do you think? In a lot of ways it's more enjoyable to watch the less than perfect athletes perform. It adds a measure of excitement wondering if the third baseman can handle a groundball and, if he/she can, will the ball make it to first base.
Thanks for the thought, Don Ray.
