Anyone For A Harvey Wallbanger
May 4th, 2007 by Don Ray
I was in the Frontera yesterday and I noticed a Duty Free store I hadn’t noticed before on the opposite side of the street from Almacen Wong Chang. It seemed to carry some wines and liquors that I hadn’t noticed in the one that is on the same sice as Wong Chang.
I picked up a bottle of Galliano (700ml) for $10. I haven’t seen that before in Panama. I used to like it in the late 60s in Harvey Wallbangers. I always liked the looks of the bottle all nice and bright yellow.
I remember it had an unusual flavor and had forgotten that it was vanilla. I wonder what I should have first (A Harvey Wallbanger or a Slow Comfortable Screw). They also carried Southern Comfort.

Don Ray,
A trip down memory lane! When I started college, a coed asked me my name and I flippantly said “Harvey Wallbanger”. She called me Harvey for the rest of the time we were in college.
Now the obvious question that follows is, “Were you a Wallbanger?
No, but I did drink Harvey Wallbangers.
I am sure it was just to get all that vitamin C.
