Artist Supplies In David
Apr 8th, 2007 by Don Ray

I was at Tamburrelli’s getting a Pizza today and noticed the store, in the above photo, across the street. Here is a close-up of what it says in the window.

Roughly translated this says, “Frames, drawing and painting classes. Painting materials for sale.”
Recently I saw someone on one of the Yahoo groups asking about artist supplies in David. I don’t remember which group it was, so I will just post this here and hope that who ever was asking finds this.
To get to this store, if you were driving from the airport, go straight at the corner past the Police. In the next block, Tamburrelli’s will be on your left and this store on your right.

I am not the one who requested the information, but thank you for posting it with directions! I will check it out when we are in David this week! I actually was looking for some classes too.

Hi Nancy. Thanks for dropping in. Let me know if it was a good find.
Hi Don Ray,
Read this post and thought that the former DSD might be able to offer a few other suggestions. Both the Libreria Regional (across the street from Parque Cervantes) and the Libreria Daisy (across the street from the old Cable & Wireless offices) have fairly large art supply sections. Libreria Regional also has a small selection of mat boards for those D-I-Y picture framers.

Hi Linda. Good to hear from you. Now that you mention it, I have seen some supplies there and had forgotten. The David Shopping Diva comes to the rescue again. Oh yes, the DSD will never loose her title.
Hi Don ,
I hope you are very well. We love the chiriquichatter site :-)))
Thanks for the info on Angelys Gallery ~ It was me!! (Diana) who was asking about artist supplies on the panamaforum. I hope to be there soon and see for myself.
I am an artist myself and would be keen to find fellow artists in the vicinity and also are you able to tell me if there are any English people we can make friends with as we are coming over from UK we would like to know of others who have relocated and what their experience has been.
I think this is a wonderful website full of useful info. Keep up the good work :-))
Kind Regards
Diana
Thanks for the comment Diana. Hopefully other English speaking artists in the Chiriqui area will reply.
Hi thanks again to all for the artist supplies info.
I am relocating to David very soon and hoping to establish my Art and Emotion Workshops whether it be for tourists or locals. I have in recent times worked with my partner with EQ emotional intelligence and awareness courses but also have developed ArtInsights art and emotion workshops which are a way of releasing emotional stress, but I am can also facilitate a traditional art class. I am qualified artist & designer.I would be very interested in getting together or even perhaps working with other artists. I am interested in all things creative and look forward to developing ideas with other like minded folk. I have also an ambition to my own gallery one day. I would love to hear from anyone who might like to contribute. I am very keen to make new friends and particularly anyone who has relocated from the UK.
See you guys very soon,
Take Care
Diana
Diana - you are welcome. Good luck with your workshops.
We stopped at the store yesterday. She has Pebo oils and acrylics. She has canvases stretched of various sizes. She has easels and she said that she has water color paper. I did not see the paper so I don’t know the quality. She has some student brush kits with palette knives for $17, however the brushed do not look to be very good quality. I also so some plastic palettes.
The art in in gallery has some nice pieces in it. They only speak Spanish, but are eager to be helpful. My guess is that if you could show her what you wanted she would try to get it for you.
Hi Nancy - thanks for commenting. Would it be worth my while to go by and take photos of the store?
