I happened to be at a local hotel today and saw this map at the hotel. It is a freebie from National Car Rental. After looking at it, I think the only thing it does reasonably well is to give a person an idea of how many streets there are in David. For anything other than that it is pretty much worthless, but I guess you get what you pay for.
I have separated this map out into three photos so that there is better detail. Starting on the left most section you see the airport. An interesting thing that I have heard is that the airport runway is going to be extended by 150 yards to accommodate a 757.

I understand that following that change that Continental will be adding a direct flight to David. I have to assume that would be from Houston, but that is speculation on my part. If anyone knows more facts about this please feel free to comment.
The above map section is not bad. I didn’t know the street going to the airport was called Ave. Reed Gray, but it may be. Now lets look at the middle section.

On this section I have never seen a road sign that says Calle F Sur. It may also be that, but the signs read Calle Miguel Ángel Brenes.
Here is the third portion of the map. There are a couple of mistakes in this section in my opinion. The street that is labeled Via Porras is really Ave. Obaldia and Calle Via Porras is really the street above the number 13. Also, I think Doleguita is really at the intersection of Via Porras and Ave. Obaldia.

While I don’t believe the map to be very helpful, you can at least see that David is not a huge city. Given a weeks time most people know where all the important things are. By the way, there are about as many street signs as there are names of streets on this map. They just don’t match the names on this map.

Hello Mr. Williams,
This map confuses my poor brain… Let me tell you, that “a grosso modo”,
1. Boquete (District of Boquete) is to the North of David,
2. Pedregal ( at the end of Red Gray Avenue) is in the South,
3. Las Lomas is in the East (both 2 and 3 are corregimientos
of David
4. Concepción ( District of Bugaba) is to the West of David.
I hope I can find a better map to indicate the readers where can they find it. Congratulations for your confusion, it indicates that you know where you are.
Best regards,
Hilda
Well, I did warn you that I thought it was worthless. National needs to try harder.
Hi again, I meant the one who is lost is the drawer of that map, not you.
Actually anyone who uses this map will probably become lost.
Hi don Ray… talking about the airport, did you realize about the charter´s flight comming from usa south?
Here is the new in this site. Days ago big planes landed in the airport, maybe this is the start of the new plans to expand the airpot.

Hi Harmodio, thanks for stopping in. Yes I had heard about the 737 landing. The movement of the car rental to the parking lot has been going on for some time. It appears that the plan is well under way.
Hi Don Ray - Driving in David is challenging enough without the “help” provided by this map. One of the most confusing aspects of learning my way around David was that some streets have 3 or 4 names, while the majority are CSN’s (calles sin nombre). I rely on landmarks - such as the Parque Cervantes, Super99, Super Baru, McDonald’s, etc. - to get my bearings and to give directions.
Does anyone know where this address is?
San Mateo, Doleguita 6465
David , Chiriqui, Panama
I’ve been looking for a good street map of David to no avail.

Hi Bob. Haven’t seen a good map. Doleguita is a large area, that has the main Romeros super market. San Mateo is another area where the McDonald’s is. What at you trying to find and I may know where it is.
I am not aware of a San Mateo street in Doleguita, but there may be one. Very few streets have street signs, so street references won’t help a lot.
