A Moment OF Silence Please
Mar 10th, 2007 by Don Ray
I went by AirBox Express today to pick up my mail for this week. I noticed that I had one piece that was in a special envelope with another padded envelope inside of it.
Upon opening it I found a new 2-gig SD memory strip for my camera. Immediately, I started thinking that maybe my mind was starting to slip. I have been looking at some of this memory on the Internet and have come close to ordering it once or twice, but I didn’t remember completing an order.
Fortunately, I found a note with the memory and was relieved to know that my mind wasn’t slipping, but that a friend and reader of Chiriquí Chatter had sent it as a gift. It was his way of saying thanks my showing him around one day that he was here.
Now that wasn’t expected or even deserved, but I do appreciate it. I know last year was a stressful year for him as his brother passed away. Recently his sister has begun chemo and radiation treatment for pancreatic cancer and he had been giving all his attention to her. And yet with all of this going on, he felt guilty for not writing me and saying thanks.
Some people are givers and some are takers. He is one of the givers. It would be good if everyone that reads this post would take a few moments and say a prayer for his sister who is undergoing treatment. I don’t believe any names are required because the one hearing the prayers will know whom the prayer is for.

Prayers for your friend are being offered. They both are on many prayer chains now in many different churches of different denominations, groups and many individuals.
We need more people like your friend. Not only should we show thanks but express it in love through our actions. May he and his sister be given a very special blessing this night and during this difficult time.
You also, friend are a giving, caring and loving person who goes out of his way to help, the extra mile!
Hi Don:
My wife and I will include your friend in our daily prayers. Names are not needed as you well stated.
Your message of love is well received. Thank you Don, for being who you are–a very gentle and kind person.
Best Regards,
Omar.-
Dear Don Ray:
I join you in prayers for both. Once we place “the heavy packet” in the Lord’s hands, we feel relieved. Would you please give them my warm Hello!
Best regards,
Hilda
Jerry, Omar, Hilda. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
Don: please be assured that your friend and his sister have been included in our prayers. Also, we thank the Lord for all the blessings he has bestowed on us, specially, for having friends like you.
Thanks for your sentiments Lilia.
