When I was in Costa Rica recently, I saw two fruits that I hadn’t seen before, but had heard of.
The first was called a sweet lemon. I am really not sure why it has that name. I didn’t find it sweet. In fact I didn’t find that it had much flavor at all. It did contain a lot of juice and had no sour taste, so maybe the lack of sourness is why it is called sweet.
It was about the size of a grapefruit. The color on the inside was pale like a grapefruit also. I understand that the locals think it is good for cleansing the kidneys.
The second fruit is called Noni. Many people think it has medicinal qualities, but I have also read that there are potential health risks in consuming it. For me I just say “No No” to Noni.
