Tambor Is Moving
Jan 27th, 2007 by Don Ray
In case you have been wondering about what was going into the old Texaco building, across from Hielo Crystal on the Interamerican Highway, as I have, I now have the answer. Last night I received a comment from Jorge Luis De Puy last night telling me that Tambor was moving a couple of days before Carnival. I think the new location is going to me more convenient.
I stopped by this morning to check the progress and they are going to have to hustle to make his projected date. I really like Tambor and they have done a good job in servicing my car in the past. I also bought my last set of tires there.

If you purchase a new Honda then you will get to know them because they are also the authorized service center for Honda in David.

Hi Don Ray,
Thanks for the report & update from Lic. Jorge. I’ve been to Tambor many times - too many times - for tire repairs, most recently last Wednesday and a sign behind the counter said they were moving to their new location January 29th. I didn’t think would be possible; the new date sounds more do-able. The new location will be great for them (high visibility) & very convenient for their customers. Good move!
I agree. I think they will get more traffic at the new location.
Do you need a lawyer to buy a new or used car in Panama? Are there more Diesel owners than Gas? Are the Fuel stations self or FULL service?
No. There are a lot of diesels, but I think there are more gas. There are some self serve in Panama City, but all in David are full service.
Hola Don,
Tambor was a major sponsor for for a road racing event I went to last year at the airstrip in Rio Hato. It was good to see you and your friend the other night. Hasta luego.
Do they have auto racing? More info please?
I will leave that for Ron to answer. I don’t know, but his comment implies they are involved with racing of some sort.
