Blog Upgrades
Jan 27th, 2007 by Don Ray
WordPress 2.1 came out and I have installed it. While there are some changes to the blog engine, you should not notice any real effect.
I decided to update the Misty Look theme to the latest version also, which is 3.0. In doing this I have changed the background color and still have a few more things to tweak, but in general, the page should be functioning as before. If you have any problems as a result of either of these upgrades, leave me a comment.

Good morning and nice Sunday to you, Don!
It`s like a spring could be coming, when you have a green colour
on a backround
I would like to change a color with an every, new post on my site.
We have today 14 F, sun is shining and snow is sparkling like diamonds, not a spring yet.
I keep following all your photos even though I don’t comment on each one. Thanks for taking the time to drop in Leena.
I always need to do something once in a while to keep the site fresh. The version change of WordPress was a good excuse.
Dear Don Ray,
Glad you could do an upgrade but on my extremly outdated webtv I can no longer see your photos.
It was a wonderful while it lasted. Many thanks.
Charpa
I am really surprised that the change had that sort of effect, but not knowing webtv, I guess it is possible.
Hi DR,
I have a friend who subscribes to WebTV and I’ve always had trouble sending pics to her. Although WebTV may seem outdated, for some its the only way to go. My friend discovered the joys of e-mail at the age of 82 and as she was living in a small apartment, felt that she could ill afford the space taken up by a computer & peripherals. She discovered WebTV and the rest is, as they say, history. She calls herself a “Surfing Granny” and although she loves the instant nature of e-mail, she misses the fun of opening the mailbox and finding an envelope with a stamp from an exotic locale on it… although I hear from her almost every day, every once in a while I find an envelope in MY mailbox from her - snail mail habits die hard!
Too bad about about the photos not showing up in emails. I had considered send the person that was having trouble what ever photo they wanted to see. Do no photos show up or they don’t show up as attachments. If you paste the photo in the email will that work?
I downloaded a webtv viewer to see if I could duplicate the problem, but with the viewer, all the photos that this person is not seeing work. So I am at a loss as to how tto help unless sending some emails would work.
I believe its more to do with the storage size of the inbox of WebTV, how many e-mails the subscribor has coming in and how much they have stored. If I edit & reduce the size of the pic file before attaching it, I have a 50-50 chance of it making it through. In my friend’s case, I send pics to her using a neighbour’s e-mail address, freeing up her inbox for her copious other mailings… not ideal, but for us, it works.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was affraid it might be because it was an attachment.
