If it is a phone that has the 850 gsm frequency, you should just be able to buy a chip and use it here. It would need to be an unlocked phone.

Double damn is expressive, but triple damn is quite serious... Watch that blood pressure... Divine order that it turns up for you,Don!

Guess you will NOT be in a mood for a traveler question, but perhaps some other knowledgeable soul will be, so here goes...

We are traveling from Austin to Panama via DC (to lobby), and will have cell phone with us by default since we are traveling on to Panama. Have a multi-country capable cingular motorola razr phone, but wonder what it would take to use it in Panama since will have it with us anyway? Anyone? Have been told it will be cheaper to rent a temp phone there, but don't want to be carrying two phones, now do I?

Hi Victor. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

I haven't gone on the river rafting so I really don't have a recommendation from personal knowledge. I know there are at least one or two river rafting companies that operate out of Boquete. I am sure they have websites that Google will direct you to. It is doesn't, drop me an email and I will look them up in the phone book.

I have been to Playa Las Lajas a few times. It is one of the more gentle beaches in Chiriqui. However I would always be careful in any of the beaches when the tide is changing, if swimming is what you are interested in.

I was last in Panama in April of '06 and fell in love. I'll be coming out again on the first of Feb. with my 12 yr.old daughter and 16 yr. old niece. i would like to take them river rafting can you recomend with whom and where in your area?
I've researched panama for 2 yrs. now and am seriously considering retirement there.
