<description>My heartfelt condolence to U, Don Ray.

Ben there, dun that.

Not in Panamá tho, my 256 ADSL w/C + W was a consistent robust performer.

However comma where we live now in Costa Rica comma ADSL is not available. So we had a RAC$A
( Costa Rica's counterpart to C + W )
RDSI ( español equivalent to ISDN ) line installed
at it's maximum available speed of 128 Kbps.

Unfortunately, it usually ran at about half it's
rated maximum speed until I downloaded the free
' TCP Optimizer ' application. An actual installation is not necessary after downloading since it is an application rather than an actually installed program. ¡ After setting it to automatically optimize various ports and TCP/IP settings, my speed leapt up to an almost consistent ± 200 Kbps ! It also features a
' Restore Previous Settings ' function should the new settings not work out.

The URL for TCP Optimizer is
