Baptism Day
Dec 19th, 2006 by Don Ray
On Sundays I usually go to the evening church service, but this past Sunday they were having a special baptism that I had been invited to attend. To the left is the front of my invitation, which I have reduced.

Above is my invitation which shows the honoree who had his baptism (Adrian Alexis Candanedo Berrios).
I arrived at the church (La Iglesia San Martin de Porres) early enough to take a few photos.
The area that was set up with the Nativity scenes was very impressive.

This is the front of the Church where the baptism will take place.

The service took place and then it was time for the baptisms. There were three.

This photo shows Adrian being held by his father and his mother in the red shirt to the left.

This is Adrian receiving a blessing and you can see one of the others to be baptized to the left.

This is the third child receiving his blessing.

Two more photos prior to the baptism.

Here is Adrian being baptized.

This is Adrian following the baptism, wondering what just happened.

This is Adrian with his parents and his padrinos.

This is a family group photo with the Padre.

Another photo.

Following the baptism ceremony, all of the invitees went to the parent’s residence.
Here is Dr. Sussan.

This is friend of Dr. Sussan that I hadn’t seen for some time. Her daughter was a cutie.

The food had been catered by chef, Mr. “Chino” Camarena. Everything was good. Sorry I ate and forgot to take photos. I did get a photo of the cake, which I thought was very elegant.

The afternoon was finished with a series of photos.

A great time was had by all, and I appreciated being invited.
For all photos see the Chiriquí Chatter Photo Album.
