Category Added And A Few Tips

Today I added the category “Videos” to all posts that have videos. If you go to the “Archives” tab, you will find all categories that the posts have been put in as well as archives of all the posts and the 50 most recent posts. If you have entered the “Archives” area you can see how many posts are in a category and if you click on a category, you will be presented with all posts that were posted for that category.
I get several emails that can usually be answered by using either the “Archives” tab or the “Links” tab, which has many Panama related website links. I am not telling you this to avoid receiving email. I am just pointing out that there may be a way to see if I have already written the answer to your question.
You can also do a search to see if something has been posted by entering the search parameter in the field at the top right of the page. The search function is not as smart as a Google search, so it is better to put in a word or two and not a long sentence. For instance if you wanted to see something about parades then enter “parade” and click search. The fewer words the better because it will compare the entire search string.

Hey Don your the Panama Expert…how about an area called “Ask the Expert” on anything? I have some canon digital camera questions about video and using compact flash memory cards. I recently ordered a 4 gig flash card (haven’t received yet)but I didn’t realize they had so many different “speed ratings”. I have a 512 mb card rated at 80 speed (seems to work great), my new 4 gig card is rated at “45″…will that make a huge difference when recording video? Like running slower?
Hi SE. I am not an expert. I have had some experiences and they may not even be the norm. I can only state what I have experienced or observed. While I have no problem responding to questions, it is wise to always consider the source. My response is free and it may not be worth any more than it costs.
On you question about the memory, I am sure that the faster the better. I use two sites for Digital Camera information.
1. http://www.steves-digicams.com/
2. http://www.dcresource.com/
Here is what the second site said about memory.
http://www.dcresource.com/faq/faq.html#memorycards
Thanks I will read up…My owners Manuel says nothing about “speed ratings” on FLASH memory cards, only about capacity. At Walmart some manufactures list speed while other’s DON’T on the Flash memory packaging, its weird.
Well since you already have the memory try taking a video of some action and see if the memory keeps up.
I called my local camera expert on the phone today, he said that the “speed” rating really only affects “High End” digital cameras with tons of features that professionals tend to use. He said my low end canon power shot should not be affected noticeably by a change in compact flash memory “SPEED”. I found my original flash card that came with the camera and nowhere does it have a speed rating on it, only capacity. My 4 gig flash card will arrive any day now and I will test it. I will check those web sites out too. Thanks
That is good to know. What is 4 gig memory going for in the states now?
I paid $85.00 (ship)from this company:

Not bad. Maybe I need to get on when I get to the states the next time.
