Fantastic Evening
Dec 1st, 2006 by Don Ray
The Moon Valley Jazz Night # 1 was a complete success. Many thanks to the Familia Tribaldos for hosting such an extraordinary event in their house. I truly enjoyed the entire evening.
Everyone started off the evening with a very refreshing fruit drink. It had pineapple and several other flavors, and came from fresh fruit.
That was followed up with some appetizers, which were meat empanadas and ceviche cups. Sorry, I didn’t take photos of those, they didn’t last long enough. They were both great, but I particularly enjoyed the ceviche.
The main course was a seasoned chicken dish. I have no idea what the orange colored vegetable was, but it was very tasty.
The meal finished up with one of the fantastic desserts that you can find any day at Cocina Rica. While the meal was being enjoyed, there was constant jazz accompanying the meal.
Antonio Singh was the master of ceremonies and also transmitted the music to his radio listening audience.

Here are a couple photos of the performers.

I think all of the attendees enjoyed the meal and the entertainment.

Here are a couple videos with several snippets from the performances. With out a doubt, this was first class music from deep in the heart of Panama.
Some of the best music came after I had filled both memory cards. They did a Mother’s Day number and a great jazz version of Jingle Bells.
Yes it was a fantastic evening. The only downer was when one of the guests took an intermission and went outside and had a cigar. When he returned the entire area reeked of cigar smell. I had forgotten how much I enjoy living in a smoke free environment.

what a great event! most of the people look happy
I know that I had a great time.
I don’t smoke…but I actually like the smell of a GOOD cigar…I like visiting hi-quality cigars shops just for the aroma. In fact I hope to try an official Cuban cigar in Panama (with out being Scammed) to see what the HYPE is all about.
Actually a cigar is okay. As long as it isn’t lit that is.
Hi Don:
thank you very much for your support to the local musicians.
This videos are great tool of promotion for them.
It was my pleasure. I really enjoyed their music.
