Tour de Chiriquí
Nov 26th, 2006 by Don Ray
Every year at this time there is an international bicycle race in the Chiriquí Province. Today as I was heading out of town a David portion of the race was going on. Tomorrow it will be in Cerro Punta I understand. Hey, Jerry tomorrow is your day to take photos!
I pulled over into a bus stop area and captured four photos. The leaders were a couple hundred yards in front of this pack. I couldn’t get my camera ready for them, but I got these. Who knows, the next Lance Armstrong may be riding by.

That’s where Marcial was…in the race! He is a triathlete and very competetive. This is how keeps in shape so he can run so fast to rescue the turtle eggs from danger.
What time of year was it that you posted these photos?
These were taken when the post came out. It was November 2006.
Duh. Thanks. My wife and I are traveling there to look at property this month. As a bike racer, I was interested in knowing when so that I might enter the race, if allowed. Maybe next time.
The race happens every year and is a very big thing around here. Riders from Colombia, Costa Rica,…, compete. I took other photos in 2007 along with a few videos.
