Chiriquí Mall Has A Children’s Fiesta
Nov 19th, 2006 by Don Ray
Yesterday I happened to be at the Chiriquí Mall when they were having a fiesta for all young people. Everyone I saw there had a good time. They had a clown that used participants from the audience and I took a few photos to show you what was going on.
Here is the clown as he was just beginning his act.

Here is part of the crowd. Many more came after I took these photos.

Here he has brought a young boy up to assist him. He is taking a long cord from his mouth. There must have been over 30 feet that he produced.

Here the clown had just taken to pieces of colored paper and asked how many he had. All the kids said two. Then he tore them in half and asked again. They all said four. Then he repeated it again and they said eight. One last time and they all said sixteen. Then he took the paper and massaged it in his hands and when he unfolded it, he had the hat you see that the young girl is wearing on her head.

Here he is burning a piece of paper and when it was almost burned up he rubbed his hands together and produced another item. The kids were amazed.

Here are two more views of the audience.

Here he had just put a large piece of paper into the box and lit it.

When it was almost burnt up he slammed the drawer shut and when he opened it, the box was full of wrapped candy which he threw to the kids in the audience. What a scramble for the candy!

Next he brought up several boys for a contest of pass the hat. The two little ones on the end had a hard time understanding the concept of the game.

This little girl didn’t miss a thing.

This little boy was more interested in me than the show.

I took a lot more photos, but there was a young lady, about 16, that was just to my right and determined to breast feed her baby and for some reason, my hand got shaky and a lot of the photos were blurred. You see this a lot in Panama and usually it doesn’t distract me, but I think it was because she was so close and there was this pronounced sucking sound.
Here are a couple of videos I took of the clown and his act.
There are other videos that I have taken that are located on my YouTube site.

I can’t speak for Panama…yet, but I do know that in Costa Rica the average Tica mother takes “Allot of PRIDE” in how there children look and dress no matter what there financial status (I like that!)Something that is definitely LOST in America anymore…go to any Walmart and watch the Freak Show!
My, you did wake up on the “I am down on the US” side of the bed this morning.
That looks like it was a lot of fun, Don Ray.
I love to watch the kids faces. Almost makes me wish I were a kid again. Almost…..
Thanks for the great pictures.
Yes. I enjoy taking photos of the kids. They are so honest in their expressions.
Children`s joy is same in everywhere and it`s wonderful!
Thank you for photos!
Yes it is. The world is much simpler for the children. The seem to be able to be happy easier than adults.
Yes I’m “down” on America why do you think that I’m moving out? Why did you leave?
Because I wanted a less stressful place to live in my retirement years, but not because I didn’t like the US.
Hi Don Ray……..I remember you don’t want political discourse here . Just to let you know I am trying to be good and I am biting my political lip after reading Snake Eyes. Thanks for the fotos. Do they have this type of thing often for the kids?
I like the Latin life style…seems to me a pleasant return to good old family values, I realize no place is perfect, but I can say there are some really disturbing things wrong in America and its not getting any better.
I don’t know why people take exception to my views, I’m not doing any thing any different than allot immigrants have done through history: leaving an oppressive country seeking FREEDOM!
Still biting
Hahaha. Rick I think you need to say your piece. I can’t stand to see a man with a swollen lip.
Personally, I have no problem with the US. The only thing that keeps me from living there now is my ability to live the way I want on the retirement income that I would have. I think it is easy to find problems with any location especially if you focus on the negatives.
I could get down on Panama if I wanted to ficus on all that is not perfect here. However, i choose to see the points that I enjoy more.
