Well, if you can make your own and it is close to B&Js then you are pretty good.

Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment.

OMG! Rationalize away! I would die for Ben & Jerry's. I see that you've listed all my favorite flavors. I am so jealous. We can't get ANY decent ice cream in La Ceiba, Honduras. I make my own and it's pretty good, but it's no Ben & Jerry's because I can't get all the chunky things to put in it.

Another way to rationalize is that B & J's is so rich that you can't eat as much as you can of the 'airy' stuff.

And you have Haagen Dazs, too? It's simply not fair.

Thanks for the comment Lynda. Actually I do eat a lot of fresh fruit. I also make a lot of fresh fruit drinks with a splash of milk and ice.

Moving here has been good for me because I do eat better than I did in the states as well as I do get a reasonable amount of exercise.

I use Splenda instead of sugar. I have stopped all forms of cola and have switched to diet 7 Up for sodas or fruit drinks.

Maybe I need to do some more research on Splenda. I still think it is better for me than straight sugar.

Don Ray, I certainly understand your ability to rationalize! I do it all the time. (As most of us do.)

Since becoming a Type II diabetic, I've had to curtail the eating of many foods that I really like. For me, Haagen-Dazs is "to die for", for real! For awhile there I was buying a half gallon of Dreyer's Vanilla ($4.29)because it is sweetened with Splenda. That would last me a couple of weeks. But now that aspartame (Nutrasweet) and Splenda are getting such a bad rap, I've even curtailed eating that.

You might like this idea though. It seems that fresh fruits and berries are so plentiful and relatively inexpensive for you there, how about a bowl of chopped up fresh fruit with a dollop of ice cream on top of it. Perhaps a sprinkle of chopped nuts. Maybe a bit of whipped cream. We can train our minds to accept most anything. Far healthier.

Bon apetit!

Have a great day.
