The Prelude To November 28
Nov 10th, 2006 by Don Ray
Today was the holiday celebrating the call for Independence from Spain in Los Santos in 1821. I was able to take several photos and a few more videos from today’s festivities.
Today, I am going to do this post a little different. All of the photos from the parade are in the Chiriquí Chatter Photo Album. When I get them loaded all the videos will be in the ChiriquiChatter area of YouTube.
What I am going to focus on here are primarily some close-ups of some of the participants. Your task will be to see if you can find the photos that are in the photo album, which I took these from.
“Do you realize that we are going to be dancing in front of those cattle the whole time?”

“Yes, and I think they really stink!”

There will be a total of 28 photos, so be patient while they load. I hope you enjoy them.
“Maybe next year I can be in the parade.”

“I’m holding my half. Make sure you don’t drop yours.”

“Don’t worry about me. You just concentrate on your end.”

“Get your flavored snow cones right here.”

“In 14 more years, I am going to drive the boys crazy!”

“My mother told me to be careful where I step.”

“I think yellow is my color.”

“I think all colors are my color.”

“It is cooler if you keep moving.”

“My driver learned this from Hillary Clinton.”

I think yellow is her color.

“Tell me again how far we have to go.”

“I so love a parade.”

“Hey, you taking the photo. I have seen you shopping in Romeros.”

“I love milk bathes.”

“I am glad it decided not to rain.”

It’s just me and all these women!

“I hope I got my mustache straight.”

“I can do the Texas two step too.”

“Come on mama. Lets boogie.”

“There is nothing to it when you have been dancing as long as I have.”

“Bless all of you that came to watch the parade today.”

“I bet I am the only one getting good photos.”

“You sure know how to twist that thing!”

“I can ride anything I can rope.”

“I think that is still alive!”

That concludes the close-up section. See all of the photos here.

Today in Oklahoma we are celebrating Veterans Day. It brings to mind Uncle Harold and how proud he was serving during WWII. How many times when we were kids did we hear his “war stories” and he was not even in a war zone but we thought they were pretty neat and they really were. He was always proud of serving his country and the American flag. I will miss him this year on Veterans Day probably the most he was a true hero in my book. I think of all the others around here that served and feel a sense of loss as I see them getting older and passing on. Freedom is a great thing isn’t it. Jan
Jan you are correct. I miss hearing the stories he would tell as well. It has been many years since he was really able to carry on that type of conversation, but if you ever heard one of his stories, you never forgot it.
