When I was at The BookMark yesterday, I noticed that the next door neighbor is a bilingual school. I don’t remember seeing it there before.

Hello Don,
I like to see pictures of people and places and you always provide them. I think it makes life more interesting as I cannot really read Spanish so would not know what I am looking at if I were standing there in your shoes. I even took one year of Spanish in school and when I lived in the summers in Tucson, I was able to use it to get around etc., but that’s about it.
Thanks for the comment Abe.
>I agree…I travel solo myself and really just enjoy backpacking around with really no agenda, what ever happens is fine with me, so I find your wondering’s interesting keep up the good work.
SE, thanks for the comment and for being such an avid follower of CC.
I am really interested in learning more about this bilingual school. Hmmm..it might be a good place for me to volunteer when we move to Panama. Any chance that you could find more info for me, Don Ray? Thanks.
If I get back up that way, I will see if anyone is there. It may take me a while.
The school next door is pre-kindergarten, maternal care, kindergarten and grades 1 and 2. It hasn’t opened as yet, but Maria de Quiros(who is, incidentally, my landlady) and her daughter who recently finished college in Costa Rica, are taking applications for the coming school year, which begins in March. They plan it as a completely bi-lingual school (just hope they don’t bring all the kids in here for the Englsih classes). I wish them luck…they will need it, and so will I. Am already imagining 40 or 50 pre-schoolers next door five days a week. But I can always disconnect my hearing aid. Hal De Mun P.S. Thanks for the shots of the store interior, am sending them off to all the doubters back in the States who think I just lie in a hammock all day(actually, I use the sofa)
Hi Hal, Glad you liked the photos. I think the new addition adds a lot to your store.
Thanks also for providing some information for Debbie.
That is funny, MAUDI is the French word for DAMNED.
This is not one word, but MA. U. D. I.
I am not sure what it stands for, but there in a university in David that is UDI.
Hi Don,
My name is Sergio im actually son of Guadalupe Acosta, sister of Maria Quiroz. My mom is one of the co-owners of this school and is excited of starting this new project in Panama. We live in Orlando,FL and just wanted to thank you for posting this up because we can see how the school looks now, thanks. By the way how is my grandmas house?
P.S.
M.A.U.D.I are the initials of the owners of the school…hopefully the school wont be damned
Sergio
Hi Sergio. Glad you found the photo. I don’t know your grandmother’s house.
Glad to know that the initials mean something other than school of the damned. However, I never thought it meant that in the first place.
I think her house is like your bookstore…no? I dont kno I havent been to Panama in years.
Ah. your grandmother’s house is next to the school, so it must be the BookMark. It is not my bookstore, just where I go to get all of the books I read.
OOOOOHHHH ok yeah all kno is dat is a bookstore lol
