2007 Honda CR-V Arrives in Panama
Sep 16th, 2006 by Don Ray
You may remember a while back that I mentioned that the new Honda CR-V was coming out and I had put it on my wish list. Well it has arrived in Panama. I thought you might be interested in seeing the price range for the new CR-V.
This is the entry level.

This looks like they added a 6 disk changer and different wheel rims. It also appears to be a special price during introduction. This is probably the one they expect to sell the most of.

This is the fully loaded model with the exception of leather seats.

And if you have to have leather seats, then this is the ultimate.

If you go by Honda in Panama City, tell them you saw the new CR-V on Chiriquí Chatter. Since the car has just arrived, I bet they will be surprised.
If you live in Chiriquí, your service will be performed by Tambor.
My wish list no longer has the coffee filter (Thank you DSD), but I will leave the Honda CR-V on the list. Looking at the prices it reminds me of my dad saying, “If we had some bacon, we could have bacon and eggs – if we had some eggs”.

As an update, I think it is more correct to say that the pricing has arrived at the Honda dealer in Panama City. I think the cars are scheduled for October.
Hello Don Ray,
I hve a ‘02 CRV. Its been a great car. Not a fun car to drive like an Accord or Camry (my last car), but very practical. I needed a 4 wheel drive to get off our dirt road in the snow, and it has lots of cargo space for a small SUV. I test drove others, RAV 4, Highlander (way to expensive to buy and fuel), Forester, Vue, and Sante Fe. The choice was not hard to make. Its a great car to have on your Wish List. I just hope it doesn’t have to stay just a wish.

While I certainly would like to have one of these beauties, I am afraid that they will have to stay on the wish list a little longer.
Very clever from Honda: Front from Lexus, sides from BMW, back from Volvo - Perfect design to meet everyone taste. Xenon lights is missing, sad. Waiting to get it in Canada, hope price would be the same $27000-35000 CDN to replace my 1997 CR-V.
Good luck on making the replacement. Thanks for dropping in.
I am very upset with Honda. The CR-V price has been inflated by 5500+ CAD when compared to same US model (AWD EX) $24050 US (after currency exchange of 0.88) = $27,222 CAD, Honda’s CAD pricing is $32,770. I have a new family and I cannot justify 5500+ unanswered dollars which I can invest in a mutual fund for my son. I love the new CR-V and have been eagerly awaiting it and its new lower price as per US site. I have bought two previous Honda’s which will be my last. Also, Honda decided not to send the manual version to Canada, a manual transmission is far better than automatic, and no hybrid in the works. Speaking of hybrids, why does the new Civic Hybrid get 50mpg on the highway and the city, is this a trick? You would think if you can get 50 in the city, you can do better than 50 on the highway, doesn’t the 2005 civic get close to 50 on the highway? What’s going on here. Toyota will introduce the 2008 Pruis with a 100mpg+ rating. Honda is not the company it used to be, I have lost all respect.
That percent of markup is pretty typical for cars in Panama. I have a hunch they will still be able to sell all they receive. When I had checked the markup of Toyota, it was much higher than the US price.
I received the following email about other service for Honda in this area. I know nothing about this recommendation, but it is always good to have options.
hi,
does anyone know:
what is the list price of a civic lx automatic in panama?

Hi Fred - I don’t know, but here is the Panama Honda Website. I sent them questions through their contact area and got quick responses.

Hi,
I will be arriving in Panama around Feb 2009 in my 1997 CR-V which I will be selling before heading off to Tasmania. Do you have any advice how/where to sell it. Can used dealers be trusted, how do I go about selling direct? Thanks, David.
