Grisoft’s New Anti-Spyware

Grisoft, the company that provides AVG anti-virus software, is now providing a new anti-spyware product (ewido anti-spyware) as well. Ewido is removing more of those nasty tracking spy wares than Spybot and Lavasoft.

You can download it for free and try it out. If you like it you can pay $30 for a year’s license. Or you can continue to use it without having the online monitor and you will need to do a manual update of new spyware signatures. I do the later and find it to be a great addition to Spybot and Lavasoft. These are three good free products.

If you want to try it out, you can download it by clicking here.

  1. I have to admit being a little lax on doing spyware scans. I have both Ad-Aware and Spybot installed. Thanks for pointing ewido out.

  2. I’m back. Well, it found the usual tracking cookies, which was expected. But, it also found another program which it identified as hijacker.small with a threat of high. However, I set it to ignore once – because this was something that was installed when I was installing some other legitimate and paid for software. I’m checking this out to see if I actually want to get rid of it or keep it.
