Rodeo Kids of Panama
Jul 22nd, 2006 by Don Ray

As I was leaving PriceMart today, I noticed some function going on in the field next to the Chiriqui Mall. I went over and saw that they were having a rodeo competition for kids. From the barrel I take it that this is the Rodeo Kids of Panama.
I captured 4 photos and a short video before my batteries ran down.
The first shot is of two young ones competing.

This photo shows other that are waiting their turn to compete.

I think this must have been the youngest competitor here today. He was announced as three years old.

They competed within age groups. To see a short clip of one of the races, click here.
I understand that tomorrow there is going to be another competition in front of the Tía Maria Arroz Company on the Inter American highway going toward Concepción just outside of David. If I remember correctly, that would be on your left as you drive toward Concepción.

You have been very busy since your return from Panama. Good stuff Don, Dick
Thanks for the comment. Hope you have a good week.
Does David have a regular rodeo arena? Is there a rodeo season?
I think they have some during the David Fair. I am sure there are others at different times around the country.
Last March we were driving through Concpcion and came upon a rodeo and “bull fight”. Do you know if this is an annual event and if it will be held again this March (07)?
Tom
Could be. They have rodeos throughout Panama.
