Relojin vs. Full Pizza
Jul 17th, 2006 by Don Ray

One of the things I did while I was in Panama City was go to the Albrook Mall. On this trip to Panama I made it to all of the major malls (Albrook, MultiPlaza, and MultiCenter).
At Albrook Mall, I looked at several watch stores. The Casio I had purchased in the Frontera two years ago had started failing and I was ready to make a change. I found this sweet Citizen at Relojin. I looked at several other watches they carried that I had seen at the Frontera and their price seemed very competitive. I had Norma price the Citizen and using that price I shopped the other watch and jewelry stores in the mall.
I found the same Citizen watch at several other places and the bottom line was that Relojin was at least 28% lower than all the other stores I visited.
I returned to Relojin and they gladly accepted my money and sized the band to fit my wrist. Great price! Great Service! I was happy!
Now being a great mood (I am always happy after I buy something – must have something to do with getting in touch with my feminine side), I set off to the food court to get something to eat.
I saw Full Pizza, which described itself as a New York Style by Googie’s. I ordered a 16” pizza and asked for my pensionado discount. The fellow at the register said he would only give a discount on the 9” pizza. The 9” pizza isn’t enough to fill anyone. I took the 16’ and paid the full price. The pizza was fair, but I have concluded that there are enough other pizza parlors that will give the discount, so I won’t return to Full Pizza. In searching the net on Full Pizza, I see that it is a Venezuela company. If I had known that I would have known they couldn’t know anything about New York Pizza. They get thumbs down from me.
Had I read the following article from the Panama Guide, I would have been prepared to gather some information from the restaurant.

Hi Don,
Welcome home - hope you’re feeling better.
Regarding your pensionado pizza - this was the first time I’ve heard that the discount applied only to certain menu items. As a fast food restaurant, they were obligated to give you a 15% discount on any main course item. If you choose to report them, they face a hefty fine. The Panama Guide posted an item last week on just this topic.
Thanks for the comment. I am feeling fine now.
Yes, I read PG\’s article and added a reference to it. Thanks for reminding me.
