Father’s Day
Jun 18th, 2006 by Don Ray
This day comes only one day a year, but it is really nice to be remembered on that day. I received a remembrance today and I really appreciated it.
I am not sure I was old enough to really tell my day how much I appreciated him before he died. If he were here today, I would do better.
Dad,
I appreciate the fact that you supported me in all my childhood activities.
I appreciate that you always told me I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.
I appreciate that you taught me the value of a handshake being a solemn contract.
I appreciate that you taught me that nothing of value comes without hard work.
I appreciate that you taught me that forgiveness was as close as asking for it.
I appreciate that you taught me that love felt as good to give as to receive.
Just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you.
Your son,
Don Ray
Who knows, maybe he reads Chiriqui Chatter on the Celestial Internet.

Hi Don:
First of all, Happy Father’s Day. I’m not very good with poems as you are, so these words will suffice.
I echo with you about the solemnity of a handshake to seal a deal (rhyme was not intended).
“I appreciate that you taught me the value of a handshake being a solemn contract.”
I yearn those years when this was true. Lawyers were not needed then to sue for breach of contract.
Great poem, maybe your Dad is enjoying it somewhere in a soft white cloud upstairs.
Enjoy the rest of your day, Don.
Cheers,
Omar.-
Thanks for dropping in. I hope you had a great day as well.
Glad you enjoyed the post.
