Adventures Left Untaken

I might be wrong. I could be mistaken.
But is there anything sadder, than an adventure left untaken.
I don’t like looking back and saying, “I wish I had”.
For me, trying and failing is not nearly as bad.
No trying and failing doesn’t leave me shaken,
But I have a few regrets of adventures untaken.
I am sure everyone has an adventure or two,
That they would take now, if they could have a “redo”.
While I can’t change the past, I have some control of the future.
And any adventure that might come now, is an opportunity I’ll nurture.
I don’t believe my eyes. There is a saucer landing outside.
And little green men are asking me, if I would like to go for a ride.
