University of Panama – Institute of Geosciences Website

I have just added a new link to the link area. It is for the Institute of Geosciences in the University of Panama.
While it is in Spanish, it is pretty easy to understand. On the left of the website you will see Últimos Sismos (Last Earthquakes). Clicking there will take you to the latest earthquakes. The website also has a highlighted box above the left hand menu that reads “Sismos más recientes en Panamá” “More recent earthquakes in Panama”.
If you look at the entry currently for today it has the following:
10 de mayo de 2006. Sismo de magnitud 4.1 al Norte de Puerto Armuelles La Red Sismológica UPA registró a las 10:06 a.m.(hora local) del 10 de mayo un sismo de magnitud 4.1 en la escala abierta de Richter, ubicado en las coordenadas 8.3° Latitud Norte - 82.8° Longitud Oeste y profundidad de 18 km.
El sismo localizado a 16 km al Norte de Puerto Armuelles fue sentido en Puerto Armuelles, Frontera, Divalá, Bugaba, Alanje y David.
El origen del movimiento sísmico es tectónico, debido a la prolongación de la Zona de Fractura de Panamá a tierra. No se han reportado daños.
My translation:
May 10 2006. Earthquake of magnitude 4.1 to the North of Port Armuelles The Seismological Net UPA registered at 10:06 a.m. (local time) of May 10 an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale, located in the coordinates 8.3° North Latitude - 82.8° Longitude West and depth 18 km.
The earthquake located 16 km to the North of Port Armuelles was felt in Port Armuelles, Frontier, Divalá, Bugaba, Alanje and David.
The origin of the seismic movement is tectonic, due to the continuation of the Area of Fracture of Panama to earth. Damages have not been reported.
Yesterday had a lot of activity. I won’t translate it, but I think it is pretty clear.

3) Hora Local: 05:42 p.m.; Coordenadas: 8.9° Latitud Norte - 82.5° Longitud Oeste; Magnitud 3.5; Profundidad: 8km
4) Hora Local: 06:43 p.m.; Coordenadas: 8.8° Latitud Norte - 82.5° Longitud Oeste; Magnitud: 3.3; Profundidad: 10km
5) Hora Local: 10:21 p.m.; Coordenadas: 8.7° Latitud Norte - 82.5° Longitud Oeste; Magnitud: 3.3; Profundidad: 2km
6) Hora Local: 04:33 a.m.; Coordenadas: 8.8° Latitud Norte - 82.5° Longitud Oeste; Magnitud: 3.2; Profundidad: 2km

I just found another site from Costa Rica where they are saying that the bigger earthquake yesterday was magnitude 4.8 and not 4.1
