Interesting. When I rebuilt my PC yesterday, one piece of software I left out was Windows Defender. I guess it is possible that it could have been my problem as well. However, my system was running so slow that I couldn't even activate the Control Panel to remove any software.

However, on further thought, I am not sure it is the same. My hard drive continually ran, but the CPU utilization was 0. No tasks showed as active.

Hi Don:

I'm having problems with Microsoft AntiSpy "Windows Defender". All of a sudden it starts scanning in the background slowing my Internet connection. At first, I thought my computer had been hijacked and was a unit of an army of Zombies. It just occurred to me to check MS Defender and it was scanning without being authorized. Real weird.

This has happened about four times now. It it continues, I will remove it, since I have about three more AntiSpy applications.

I'm glad you got your problem fixed.

Cheers,

Omar.-
