The Brothers Grimm
Mar 12th, 2006 by Don Ray
Last night I watched “The Brothers Grimm” on DVD starring Matt Damon and Heath Ledger. Today I went to the net to see how others had perceived it. I found some critics giving it high ratings and I found some critics saying it was extremely bad. I personally think that the critics that rated it high must have been paid to give it a good rating. I fell on the side that thought it was horrible.
In fact, I really can’t think of a movie that I have liked less than this one. Not too long ago watched “Finding Neverland” and thoroughly enjoyed it. It starred Johnnie Depp as Sir James Matthew Barrie, the author of Peter Pan and the movie portrayed how the idea of Peter Pan transpired.
I guess because “Finding Neverland” was so good, I thought that the movie “The Brothers Grimm” might be of similar orientation and I would get some insight into how the two brothers gathered the stories that were published in their famous fairy tale book. Instead I watched a miserable movie that never had any worthwhile points to remember. If you have any thoughts of renting this movie, I suggest you go to wherever you have your tools and take out a hammer and as hard as you can hit yourself on your little finger. I promise you will enjoy it more.
I just remembered that I rented two DVDs to watch and “The Brothers Grimm” was the one I though would be the best. I dread putting the other DVD in the player.
