Shine Um Up
Mar 6th, 2006 by Don Ray
While I was down town this morning I decided to get my shoes shined. With the work on the park going on, the shoe shiners have had to fine other locations. I found a shoe shiner that wasn’t busy between Sonitek and the church. He did an outstanding job. I mean he really put everything into making my shoes look great. The charge – 50 cents. What a bargain.
Meanwhile across the street the park is getting its own shine. I took a couple of photos across the fence that is surrounding the park. Different people have said that it will take from 4 to 12 months for the beautification that is going on. I don’t doubt it. You can see from the photo that all concrete structures have been removed and there are mounds of dirt all over.
I don’t know what the plan is, but it looks like they are investing a lot in this beautification effort.

Talk about a quick update. I just received a comment from a reader (comment is in the comment section) and he gives a URL to a picture of what is happening in the park. Here is the graphic of Parque Cervantez.

At the end of this page you´ll see how the park will look when the beautification finish.
Thanks for the update. I put the graphic in the post to make it easier for people.
