I literally hate this time of year. It seems that doing taxes just ought to be simpler than it is. I mean, enter this here; add this to the previous amount; carry this amount to page 2 line 4. and so on and so on…
That is why I thought that TaxCut should have been an asset. Then I found that I had been deceived and TaxCut would not compute a state tax for a nonresident. Back to the drawing board I go. I was sure if I searched the Internet long enough I would find an easier way.
Sure enough, I found that last year the good old IRS had finally come up with a form that is easy to understand. It requires no strenuous computation, and it is equally fair to the rich and poor alike.
Now it took me an enormous amount of time to find this form, so I am putting a copy here as a public service. I am sure that others living in Panama hadn’t realized that so much progress had been made in the Tax code while we have been out of the country. Now this form says 2004, but I have been assured that it will be accepted for 2005 as well.

By the way, take a close look at the title of this post. Now remove the space from the two words. Do you think that it is a coincidence that you wind up with “THEIRS”?

Ooooh..thats not nice.
Now I have to double check and see if I ever finished my taxes…

You are never finished with your taxes. They go on longer than life.
