Keys Fitness Comes to The Rescue
Feb 3rd, 2006 by Don Ray
After what seems like forever, I have finally gotten my Keys Fitness 3200HRGT treadmill running again. It was working when I unpacked it originally here in Panama, but after moving it to its new location, it was no longer working. That started a process of getting it fixed with the company being in Garland, Texas.
After several emails beginning in September of last year, Nick Rodriguez diagnosed that it was the motor controller card that was failing and needed to be replaced. He shipped me a replacement controller card through my mail forwarding office in Florida.
However, when the motor controller arrived it also had a different problem and there was some question in my mind if the motor controller was really the problem. Since I was planning on going to the states in January, I decided to take both motor controllers with me to the Keys Fitness service center in Garland and have them both tested.
Nick was busy on the phone helping others, but his supervisor took care of me. He had both controllers tested and they both failed. He gave me another controller, which he had just tested. He also gave me a control panel harness, which he thought could also be a source of problems.
This morning I decided to install the new controller. Now I have to say I was a little apprehensive since I was not very lucky with the PC motherboard installation yesterday. Still, it was another item on my “To Do” list and it also was more fun than taxes. I installed the motor controller, did the pre-calibration that was required and held my breath as I pressed the START button.
I watched as the treadmill came to life and the platform raised to the correct level. The countdown timer counted toward zero and I held my breath. I have been here before with the two previous controllers. When the counter hit zero, the belt of the treadmill started moving and I now claim VICTORY.
Thanks go to Nick Rodriguez and his supervisor. Starting tomorrow, I will restart my exercise program.
Guess I have run out of excuses to prevent my filling out my taxes.

I am so happy that you got your treadmill working! It sure is nice to be able to use that everyday. I bought a treadmill from Keys on Feb 11th and it has broken 10 times. Well, let me rephrase that, it broke 9 times then they replaced it and the new one has broken. They continually send us wrong or broken replacement parts each time. They “fix” it, it runs for three weeks, then begins the two month process of co-ordinating a time when we are home, they can send it, and the repair guys can come to our house. When all of those align….whoops! wrong part! Thank your lucky stars that your treadmill is working.

Hmmm. Maybe your local service person is not that good. It may be tome to call the office in Garland and ask to speak to the chief honcho.
When i took my failing motherboard into Garland they tested it and provided a new one and I haven’t had any more problems.
Good luck.
