My Camera Needs a Viagra!
Dec 9th, 2005 by Don Ray
It appears that the problem with my Canon A85 camera is that it has developed a dead pixel. Repair requires the camera to be sent to Canon. Any ideas of how you do that, when you live in Panama? I guess I will talk to Audio Foto and see if they can do that. Of course the price to get it fixed will weigh in the decision. I feel like this will probably result in my needing to buy a new camera. Shucks, I love to shop, and now I have a new legitimate reason to research cameras.
I have always liked the Canon brand. This is the first time that I have ever had any problems with one of their products. If anyone that is reading this has had any digital cameras repaired in Panama, I would like to know your experiences. I am sure that the only repair can be done by Canon. If this had been a cheaper camera, I would just pitch it, but it is a good model and will probably make sense to repair.
In the meantime, any photos that appear to have a spot in the right center can now be attributed to a dead pixel. I wonder if there is such a thing as a Viagra to revive a dead Pixel.

As an update, I have found out that digital cameras can be serviced in panama City at Foto Ser. The phone number for Foto Ser is 261-0436.
