The Bout Of The Century
By Don Ray Williams
December 5, 2005
Twas the bout of the century, two boxers not flailers,
Susan Guberman-Garcia vs. Melodye Taylor.
Susan moved swiftly and jabbed, but continually cried foul,
Melodye held her own and awaited the bell.
Round after round, they circled the ring,
Pete said his money was on Melodye, when the fat lady sings.
Me, I’m not so sure, Susan’s one prolific poster,
She has more words than Toastmaster has toasters.
Words flew though the day and into the night,
It was a battle of Titans, one hell of a fight.
Just like Ali vs. Frazier, some day we’ll recall,
We saw the bout of the century, between the best of them all.

I have a new friend from Panama who frequents my different blogs and we are slowly getting acquainted. You probably know him — he knows you. His name is “Omar” and he reads your blog. He has invited me to move to Panama and I had never given it any thought. I will be 72 in October and my wife will be 70. We will probably not move to Panama because our family is here in Ohio or most of them are.
Anyway, I really enjoyed reading the Bout of The Century. I also have had lots of problems making sense out of Yahoo Group members. I am always forgetting the “Lurkers” when I post something on the group I belong to.
Anyway. Omar suggested I read your blog. So I got you linked. You are being read as far away as Brookville, Ohio where I live.

http://www.oldmanlincoln.com/ this is the website of mine that Omar first saw.
http://oldmanlincoln.efx2.com/ is my current blog.
http://www.sendai-shi.com/ is my site for old soldiers once stationed in the Far East in and around Sendai, Japan.
Thanks.
Abraham Lincoln. Now that name seems to ring a bell in this tired old mind. Ah, I remember now. I see it all the time on another website I read called Disarranging Mine. http://www.disarranging.com/review/
Yes, Omar and I also have met through the Internet. I frequent his blog often to find out what the new subject he is thinking about.
You should take him up on his offer to visit. Just make sure to not pack the Ohio winter clothes. You will not need them.
Thanks for giving me some new websites to check out. I am sure you will be hearing from me one of the days.
Welcome aboard and I appreciate your comment.
Hello Don Ray,
Yes, I was quiet for quite some time but now I have got the business here on Taboga going fairly smoothly and have a computer of my own to work on. I will be a bit more visible now. So sorry you witnessed that particular “bout” and sorrier you wrote about it. Haha! Normally I ignore the pokes and jabs but sometimes you just can’t let them slide or maybe I just chose not to for once.
Glad to see you are still chattering.
Melodye
Hey, glad you stopped by Melodye. Don’t be a stranger. If I make it to Taboga, I’ll stop in and say “hi”.
