I So Wanted A Cheesecake
Dec 3rd, 2005 by Don Ray
There is nothing worse than getting in the mood to cook something and then going to the grocery store and not being able to find a key ingredient. That happens to me all the time since I moved to Panama. While the grocery stores carry everything you need to survive they seem to always be out of some piece of a recipe that I choose to cook.
I must admit, it has made me a little more creative and if I don’t have what is called for, I change the recipe. However, this time what I need is the one item that makes the recipe. I need canned pumpkin. I went to two of the larger stores (Super Baru and Super99) here in David and neither had it. I didn’t try Romero.
I understand that the Rey grocery store that is coming to the new Plaza El Terronal is the best store in Panama City and I hope it carries more items than the others.
Bummer! And I so wanted to try Melissa’s latest recipe.

Don, Use squash. Does the same job especially Hubards. Dick Nice day here. Hope you are having fun. I have been so busy this last week that there was no time for anything. Like a hotel here at my house.
Hope you are getting good tips.
Hi Don Ray,
If you still need some canned pumpkin, I have a can I will trade you - for a slice of that cheesecake!
You have a deal!
